Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Rengin is a personal color and astrology app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Rengin app and this website.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Onboarding answers (style preferences, vibe)
• Date and place of birth, used to generate your astrology profile
• Self-reported skin tone, eye color, and hair color
• Account details (name, email) if you sign in

Information collected automatically

• Device type, operating system version, and app version
• App usage events for product improvement and crash reporting

Photo access

When you use the outfit feature, photos are processed on your device. We do not upload your outfit photos to our servers.

Selfie photo (face image)

When you complete the color analysis flow, you provide a selfie. Your selfie is uploaded to our storage and sent to our AI analysis provider, Anthropic (Claude API), solely to compute your color season, undertone, contrast level, and personal palette. The selfie is not used for identification, advertising, profiling, or AI model training. It is retained until you delete your account, after which it is permanently removed.

Profile inputs sent to the AI analysis service

The following items, which you enter during onboarding, are also sent to our AI analysis provider together with your selfie, for the sole purpose of producing your color report: your first name, birth date, birth time (optional), birth city/country, eye color, hair color, skin tone selection, and jewelry preference.

3. How we use your information

• To generate your color season analysis and daily palette
• To personalize content, recommendations, and notifications
• To diagnose crashes and improve app performance
• To respond to your messages and support requests

4. Data storage and security

We store account and profile data on industry-standard infrastructure. We use technical and organizational measures to protect your data.

5. Third-party services and sub-processors

We use the following third-party services to operate Rengin:

• Anthropic, PBC (Claude API) — AI analysis provider. We send your selfie and the onboarding inputs listed above to Anthropic in order to generate your color analysis. Anthropic processes the data under their Commercial Terms of Service and does not use customer data to train their models. Anthropic’s privacy policy: https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy
• Supabase (self-hosted on our infrastructure) — authentication and database storage for your profile, analyses, and wardrobe items.
• Cloudflare R2 — object storage backend used for your selfie and wardrobe photos.
• Apple (Sign in with Apple) — authentication.
• RevenueCat — subscription management.

We share personal data with these providers only to the extent necessary to deliver the service, and we have ensured each provider offers protections substantially equivalent to those described in this policy.

6. Your rights

You can view, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can also delete your account from inside the app, or by emailing privacy@rengin.app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.

You can delete your account, including your selfie and all analysis data, at any time from Profile > Delete Account inside the app. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

7. Children's privacy

Rengin is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you inside the app or by other reasonable means.
